Anyone fancy a game of Mornington Crescent while we wait for something
to happen? Stovold's 2002 Rules, of course, with the additional
requirement that, in order to stay on-topic, only London or Essex
postcodes can be used. Oh, and knip on the Central line costs you 3
moves, not two, in honour of this spring's events.
Anyway, I'll start things rolling (?) with Heathway.
(Crafty but is was back in May when the buses were on instead of
trains)
Upminster
Are you sure you meant to do that? Kravitz' variation doesn't typically
work too well on the District line. Anyway, under the current rule
set, I'll have to follow that with
Mudchute
I am indeed sure as I knew today was Sunday. I'll have to move on to
no, I'm not falling for that and getting in the loop.
Stratford it is.
Ouch! I didn't see that one coming. That means I lose all my blue
tokens, except the ones on the Northern Line (which we can't play here
because of the Essex rule) - have to find a way to lateral them to the
Epping branch of the Central. Never mind, for now, I'll just content
myself with
Holloway Road - and by judicious placement of a couple of amber podumes,
I fortuitously block all other "- Road" stations.
Due to the crossing opening tonight, it's a green light all the way to
Redbridge.
You only got away with that because this is only a two-player game. If
anyone else joins in, you'll have to retract that move and miss a turn!
Meanwhile, it's back to the District Line, and hope you don't spot
where I'm heading with this little gambit (and no, its, not the
Kravitz-Mölder manoeuvre, so don't go getting all excited about nothing):
